College Bootcamp Summer 2017

 

 

This intensive 3 day, 9 hour session is perfect for rising 11th/12th graders. Students will begin the Common Application and work on resumes and essays for this applicationExpert advice and personal attention will be given to each student as they complete their applications, and each student’s essays will be edited and reviewed. Students will learn how to make their application stand out in this competitive college environment. Students will also learn how to apply for scholarships and grants. 

 

This course is perfect for busy juniors and seniors who want to start the college application process before school begins.

 

Students will: 

Ö register and begin filling out their Common Application

Ö correctly add schools to their application and research what is needed for each school 

Ö review what colleges are looking for to ensure that their application stands out 

Ö brainstorm and draft personal and supplementary essays for the Common App

Ö work on correctly explaining activities for the Common App

Ö research and find scholarships and grants 

 

All sessions will cover the same information

(max of 10 students a session)

 

Session 1: June 5th - June 7th

    10 am – 1 pm

 

Session 2: June 28th - June 30th

     1 pm - 4 pm

 

Session 3: July 10th - July 12th

    10 am - 1 pm

Session 4: July 26th - July 28th

    1 pm - 4 pm

 

Cost: $300/per student (please ONLY rising 11th/12th grade students)

Payment of $100 due upon registration to hold students spot

 

Location: Alpharetta/Roswell (TBC)

Mrs. Catts-Xie, B.A., M.B.A., N.C.C., M.S.C.

Taught by Mrs. Caroline Catts-Xie, Assistant Director of College Counseling at a large, independent school in Atlanta. Caroline holds a Bachelor’s of Arts from Sewanee, The University of the South, a Masters in International Business from Rutgers University, and a Master’s in School Counseling from Mercer University. Caroline lived and worked in Beijing, China for 6 years and while in China, she attended Beijing Foreign Studies University and earned a certificate in Chinese language studies. 

 

Caroline has worked with countless students and families on the complicated and competitive college admissions process, and understands the details needed to help an applicant stand out. She has also toured numerous college campuses and maintains strong relationships with admissions counselors. 

 

She is a member of both the National and Southern Association of College Admission Counselors, American School Counselors Association, is a National Board Certified Counselor, and is working towards a college counseling certificate from The University of California, Los Angeles.

 

Caroline is married to Xie Guofeng, a native of Shandong, China.
